Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM and Saturdays at 6 PM on WVIA-HD2. Oct. 6 Potter’s Daughter. This session marked the return of talented pianist, composer, and vocalist Dyanne Potter Voegtlin who first appeared on Homegrown Music in 1992. The material from this 2018 recording includes some classical influence as well as sophisticated original material performed with a five piece group including her son Ian and notable jazz bassist Lincoln Goines. (Rescheduled due to preemption on September 29.)

Oct. 13 HannaH’s Field. The duo of Hannah Ardenski and Andrew “Bongo Bliss” Ardenski have served up what they describe as “modern hippie Rasta folk” over their five albums. Their performances have included the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock. This encore presents their appealing music from a 2019 session.

Oct. 20 Jefferson Thomas. A New York based singer-songwriter whose resume includes fronting a horn-based soul band, Thomas has been releasing solo recordings since 2008. This solo session from 2015 features Thomas in both electric and acoustic modes.

Oct. 27 Carla Ulbrich. A wonderfully witty singer-songwriter, Ms. Ulbrich recently released a collection of songs looking at the humorous side of the COVID quarantine world. This segment is an anthology of songs from her Homegrown Music sessions going back to the early 2000s, including a guest appearance by John Fogerty’s pianist Bob Malone.
