Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Homegrown Music (HGM), presents all-new performances each Tuesday at 9:00 PM. April specials include Concert Clips on the 8th, plus a WVIA-FM 30th anniversary celebration on the 15th and 22nd. Apr. 1 A Homegrown Music Anthology: Humorous and Novelty Songs. For an April Fool's Day edition of Homegrown Music, series producer George Graham goes into the archive and puts together a fun set of humorous and novelty that range from hilarious to downright weird. All are original compositions by regional artists taken from past editions of Homegrown Music.

Apr. 8 Homegrown Music Concert Clips. Since 1982, the monthly Homegrown Music Concert series has presented nearly 200 evenings of live music on the radio, and has spawned a series on WVIA-TV. This week's segment is a 90-minute special of memorable music taken from live concert-broadcasts from the past year or two. It will also provide an opportunity for Public Radio listeners to support this unique performance series. (Note: Start time 8:30 PM)

Apr. 15 WVIA-FM 30th Anniversary Special Part 1. On April 23, 2003, WVIA-FM will mark its 30th anniversary of signing on. The presentation of regional artist performances goes back to the very beginning of the station. This week and next, Homegrown Music will present some of the early recordings from the archive starting with the first from 1973.

Apr. 22 WVIA-FM 30th Anniversary Special Part 2. WVIA-FM continues its celebration of 30 years on the air, throughout its history presenting regional artist performances from the station's studios. This week's edition of the program features another anthology of music from the earlier years of the series.

Apr. 29 Plus 3. An outstanding new rock quartet from the Wyoming Valley, Plus 3 make their Homegrown Music debut with a fine collection of tasteful original music, marked by intelligent, melodic writing, ringing acoustic guitars, and first-class vocals. Showing the influence of the great pop-rock bands from the Beatles to R.E.M., Plus 3 show that tuneful, hummable rock is very much alive.
