Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Homegrown Music (HGM), presents new performances most Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. May special features include a Homegrown Music concert on the 10th with World Music luminary Samite. | May 4 Walter Prezelski. Forest City area singer-songwriter and
guitarist Prezelski returns for another set of his unique songs, marked by
distinctive, often unconventional lyrics and his deep bass voice.

May 10 A Homegrown Music Concert with SAMITE and DAVID CULLEN. WVIA's monthly series of live Homegrown Music concert-broadcasts continues on Monday nights with a performance by an renowned World Music artist and an acoustic guitar virtuoso.

Samite Mulondo is a native of Uganda, and fled his country during the regime
of dictator Idi Amin. Since his arrival in the US, he has become one of the
most popular and appealing World Music artists, with truly international
following. He combines the folk music and instruments of East Africa, such as
the kalimba and various percussion, with the lilting songs of his homeland
along with beautiful original material. His current CD, Tunula Eno has
received many glowing reviews, and has been heard frequently on the
nationally-syndicated Echoes Public Radio program. Based in nearby
Upstate New York, Samite will be making his Homegrown Music debut.

| David Cullen is no stranger to Homegrown Music. The Lehigh Valley guitarist has extensive experience in the classical world, and has also recorded for Windham Hill Records and has several CDs to his name. A remarkable stylist, he combines the virtuosity of classical technique with a melodic sense to create original music that is as appealing as it is impressive. |

As an added treat, David Cullen and Samite will join in each other's set to make this an extra-special evening of music.

| May 11 Jabberpony. From New Jersey, this unusually-named band (it
comes from a combination of the names of the members) performs wonderfully
melodic, and often ethereal folk rock. This encore of a 2002 session features
the beautifully soaring vocals their then-lead singer Sarah Schoendienst.

| May 18 Kris Kehr with Bill Stetz. Another long-time veteran of the Homegrown Music, Kris Kehr has been in many bands over the years, including the famously eclectic bluegrass ensemble Pavlov's Dawgs. Kehr returns to the series for fine collection of new original songs, performed in an acoustic setting with bassist Bill Stetz. |

May 25 Carla Ulbrich. One of the wittiest songwriters Homegrown
Music has presented, Ms. Ulbrich returns with a new bunch of downright
hilarious songs, many of them poking fun at her experience in the hospital. She
backs up her funny songs with impressive guitar technique -- and indeed she
performs a classical piece on guitar as part of the set. She is also joined by
special guest pianist (and another clever songwriter) Bob Malone.
