Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Homegrown Music (HGM), presents new performances most Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. July features a Homegrown Music concert on the 19th. July 6 Erik Balkey. Acclaimed Philadelphia area singer-songwriter
Erik Balkey returns to Homegrown Music for a new collection of his thoughtful
songs, performed in his warm, appealing style.

July 13 Timothy's Burden. A first-rate rock quintet from
Northeastern Pennsylvania makes their Homegrown Music debut with a great
collection of original music that defies easy categorization. They draw their
influences from many sources, and create music that features great vocals and
memorable, hummable tunes.

July 19 A Homegrown Music Concert featuring MIKE AGRANOFF and TOM FLANNERY. WVIA's monthly series of live Monday-night Homegrown Music Concert-broadcasts this month features two outstanding singer-songwriters.

Mike Agranoff is a witty and astute folksinger and songwriter from New Jersey,
who has developed a national reputation on the folk festival and coffeehouse
scene. Mike Agranoff is known for his often hilarious songs that poke fun at
his own profession, as well as doing things like condensing Shakespeare's
Hamlet into a three-minute song. His CD Or Would You Rather Have a
Job has been receiving critical kudos since its release in 2000. He makes
his Homegrown Music debut in what promises to be a very entertaining set.

Tom Flannery is no stranger to Homegrown Music through nearly 30 appearances on
the program over the past 14 years. A prolific songwriter, Flannery operates
with website "songaweek.com which features new topical songs weekly. He is
also a veteran of at least four CDs, including The Anthacite Shuffle a
collection of songs about coalmining in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He'll be
performing collection of brand new material.

July 20 Eric Hansen. After a fairly lengthy career in theater,
leading to occasional roles in TV daytime dramas, Eric Hansen turned his full
attention to his music in the 1990s. With his rich baritone voice and warm,
positive lyrics, Hansen has been a favorite on Homegrown Music. A couple of
years ago, he left our area for Arizona, but recently released a new CD called
A Lover's Lullaby. This encore presentation features some highlights of
Eric's several Homegrown Music appearances.

July 27 Rhino Campground. A funky jazz-rock fusion band from the Lehigh Valley, Rhino Campground serve up classy original music marked by a danceable beat and strong vocals, in this encore from 2002.
