Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Homegrown Music (HGM), presents new performances most Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. Special features during December a Homegrown Jazz special on December 14, and the annual year-end sampler on the 27th. Dec. 6 Van Wagner. Prolific Danville, PA, singer-songwriter Van Wagner returns to Homegrown Music with a new set of his fine, lyrically insightful songs, performed in a solo acoustic setting.

Mike Guldin and Rollin' & Tumblin'
Mike Guldin and Rollin' & Rublin'
Dec. 13 Mike Guldin and Rollin' & Tumblin'. From the Lehigh Valley, this six-piece blues band was the winner of the 2002 Billtown Blues Festival Challenge. This encore of a 2003 session features the band in fine form performing a mix of originals and blues standards, with their distinctive arrangements incorporating two keyboard players. (Encore)

Dec. 14 A Homegrown Jazz Special with THE DARK CITY TRIO. This is a group of outstanding young jazz musicians who have been featured previously on the program with other ensembles: guitarist Gene Segal, bassist Miles Brown and drummer Joe Cangelosi. Their set includes mostly original compositions with a jazz standard thrown in for good measure, and ranges from the atmospheric to the more energetic. The trio lives up to their high standards of musicianship and quality of compositions. (Note: Start time: 7:00 PM during WVIA's All That Jazz.)

Dec. 20 Josh Aran. Aran is a talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose 2003 CD Between Us There Arose Happiness was featured on the Mixed Bag weekly album review. Aran makes his Homegrown Music debut with a new set of his sophisticated folk-pop songs written for his forthcoming CD.

Homegrown Music 2005 Sampler Dec. 27 Homegrown Music 2005 Sampler. A series tradition continues with the annual year-end cross-section of some of the music produced for Homegrown Music during 2005, taken from both the weekly studio recordings as well as the monthly live concerts. As usual, this 90-mimute segment spotlights the diversity of styles the series has presented during the year. (Note: Start time: 8:30 PM)
