Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Homegrown Music (HGM), presents new performances most Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. Special features during January include a Homegrown Jazz special on the 4th, a live Homegrown Music concert on the 16th, and an anthology special on the 17th. Jan. 3 Bob Malone. A great New Orleans style pianist, and a witty
songwriter, New Jersey native Bob Malone tours around the country, often
performing in his home region. This encore of his debut Homegrown Music
session from 2002 features some of his best songs, along with some impressive blues
and boogie-woogie style piano.

Jan. 10 Lumber Truck. A great young jam band from the Scranton
makes their Homegrown Music debut with an engaging set of original music marked
by strong musicianship.

Jan. 16 A Homegrown Music Concert with RON SUNSHINE. WVIA's
unique series of monthly live concert-broadcasts marks the new year with an
appearance by one of the hippest blues and swing vocalists on the scene. Ron
Sunshine is no stranger to Homegrown Music, with appearances going back to
1994, and he is always welcome back. He'll be doing two sets with the
latest edition of his band of first-rate jazz musicians. As usual, WVIA's listeners are invited to be part of the studio audience in this two-hour live presentation from the WVIA studios. Admission is free by advance reservation. Call 570-655-2808 for free reservations. (Note: Start time 8:00 PM.)

Jan. 17 A Homegrown Music Anthology Special: ACOUSTIC GUITARISTS. This week, Homegrown Music producer George Graham presents a set of some of the many outstanding acoustic guitarists who have appeared on the series in recent years, from folk to new age to jazz.
Jan. 24 Bo Jamison. A fine bluegrass-style singer-songwriter formerly of Tunkhannock, PA, Ms. Jamison left the area a few years ago, and is now a prominent member of the all-female bluegrass quartet the Tennessee Heart Strings Band. This encore features music from some of her four Homegrown Music sessions from the late 1990s.

Jan. 31 Brazz Tree. This unique and eclectic duo features a Julliard trained
violinst-vocalist and a distinctive acoustic guitarist. Their recent CD
Quest has been featured on Mixed Bag. They make their Homegrown Music
debut with a collection of new non-album music. Note: Special Start Time: 8:00 PM
