Mar. 6 Wayne Scott Farley. From the Lehigh Valley, Wayne Scott Farley is a virtuoso guitarist specializing in electric and acoustic 12-string guitars, as well as being a distinctive singer-songwriter known for his thoughtful lyrics. This 2004 solo session features the range of Farley's music.

Jerry Wagers and Beth Jenkins in the studio for Homegrown Music

Mar. 13 Jerry Wagers and Beth Jenkins. A fine acoustic duo from Tunkhannock, PA, Jerry Wagers and Beth Jenkins make their Homegrown Music debut with an attractive blend of original folk and Beatles-influenced pop with great melodies and vocal harmonies.

Mar. 20 Craig Thatcher Band. This Homegrown Music Archive segment features a memorable 1996 performance by an outstanding Lehigh Valley blues band. Thatcher remains one of the region's most respected blues performers, and this segment spotlights a great collection of Thatcher's original music.

Mar. 27 MoR. Homegrown Music is dedicated to presenting performances by regional artists, so this week's segment is not really "Homegrown." The highly distinctive duo MoR is from Iceland, but their CD Duran has been getting a good deal of airplay and listener reaction on Mixed Bag. Consisting of only the remarkable voice of Margret Eir and the electric bass of Robert Thorhallson, the Duran CD features intriguing, sultry versions of Duran Duran's music. As part of their US tour, they paid WVIA a visit and performed a wonderful collection of mostly original music not heard on their CD. They also talk with George Graham about the rich music scene in their country of only 300,000 people.
