Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Homegrown Music (HGM) airs Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. The series will be preempted on December 23 for holiday programming. Special features during December include year-end samplers for both the regular Homegrown Music series on the 30th, and a Homegrown Jazz sampler on the 31st. Dec. 2 Jerry Wagers and Beth Jenkins. A fine folk duo from Tunkhannock, PA, Wagers and Jenkins create memorable, attractive original songs that owe as much to the Beatles as Dylan. This encore features music from a 2007 recording session.

Dec. 9 Dave's True Story. This nationally-acclaimed jazzy/folky
group released several CDs which won high praise. They combine clever, often
humorous lyrics with a jazz sensibility and the wonderful, sultry vocals of
Kelly Flint. This is an encore of a memorable session from 2005.

Dec. 16 The Alice Project. Singer-songwriter Alice Leon and her
band recently released a new CD called The Girl on the Box, which has
been getting national airplay and critical praise. Homegrown Music goes into
the archive for this 2001 session by the band, with their trademark
sophisticated arrangements and intelligent songwriting.

Dec. 30 The Annual Homegrown Music End-of-the-Year Sampler. Series producer George Graham presents an eclectic cross-section of the music performed in studio sessions and live concerts during 2008.
Dec. 31 A Homegrown Jazz Year-End Sampler. The past year featured a number of outstanding jazz performances presented in both Homegrown Jazz segments and live concerts. This segment presents an anthology of jazz in the WVIA Studios from 2008.
