Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. December specials include a Christmas music anthology on the 22nd, and the annual year-end special on the 29th. Dec. 1 Micah Vierling. From the Scranton area, singer-songwriter
and guitarist Micah Vierling is featured in a set of appealing and often
thoughtful original songs, joined by an acoustic group with violin including
family members. Encore from 2008.

Dec. 8 The Purcells. Ken Purcell was last heard on Homegrown Music in 2000 with the Lehigh Valley Celtic group the Shanachians, whose appearances on the series go back to the 1980s. Now Ken is joined by his sons Connor and Corey to perform a generous collection of mostly traditional music in this all-new segment.

Dec. 15 Anna Dagmar. Pianist, singer and songwriter Anna Dagmar in 2009 released Let the Waves Come in Threes which was featured on the Mixed Bag weekly album review. The New York State resident makes her Homegrown Music debut performing some of her beautiful, near-classically influenced compositions on the WVIA Steinway grand.

Dec. 22 A Homegrown Music Christmas Anthology. Homegrown Music producer George Graham digs into the series' archive to present a collection of holiday music, ranging from humorous to more reverent.
Dec. 29 The Annual Homegrown Music Year-End special. The year was a prolific one for Homegrown Music with some 25 new studio segments presented. This 90-minute special presents a cross-section of the music in various styles, taken from the studio recordings and live concert broadcasts.
