Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Oct. 5 Ann Kerstetter and Her All-Star Band of Cronies at the Bloomsburg Fair. Homegrown Music's annual broadcast from the Bloomsburg Fair Free Stage amphitheater this year features energetic blues singer-songwriter Ann Kerstetter with a new group of "Cronies," including a remarkable 16-year-old guitarist, Michi Egger. The group put in a great set before an enthusiastic audience at the 156th annual edition of the Bloomsburg Fair on September 25. This edition of Homegrown Music features that set as it was performed live.

Oct. 11 A Homegrown Music Live Concert with MIKE MIZ and 56 MEN. The new season of the Homegrown Music live radio concerts gets under way in WVIA's Sordoni Theater. This time an acoustic set by guitar virtuoso Mike Miz and first-class rock from the 56 Men.

Mike Mizwinski has been touring nationally and performing with both his own group and as part of the art-rock band Gongzilla. He performs an acoustic set for this concert, joined by long-time Homegrown Music veteran Kris Kehr, known for his work with the eclectic bluegrass band Pavlov's Dawgs.

56 Men is actually only five gentlemen, who named their Philadelphia-area group after the number of people who signed the Declaration of Independence. The group's members are long-time veterans of the rock scene, and include members of a group called the Patriots who appeared on HGM some two decades ago. 56 Men's eponymous CD from last year received national airplay. They make their Homegrown Music live concert debut performing intelligent, melodic original rock marked by great vocals.

Oct. 12 A Homegrown Music "Deep Archive" special. As part of WVIA-FM's annual fall fundraising drive, Homegrown Music producer/host George Graham will feature some early gems from the archive, with sessions from the 1970s and 1980, including the Jerry-Kelly Band (predecessor to Dakota), the early Badlees, well-known alternative rock innovator Howe Gelb, Blue Sparks, Bedful of Metaphysicians and many others.

Oct. 19 Corey Purcell and Steve Stanislaw. Traditional Celtic music is featured in this HGM segment featuring button accordionist and cittern player Corey Purcell (heard recently with his father on HGM in The Purcells") and guitarist, banjo player Steve Stanislaw. The young Lehigh Valley duo feature outstanding musicianship and musical eclecticism.

Oct. 26 Walter Prezelski. From Union Dale, PA, the highly distinctive singer-songwriter Walter Prezelski returns with a new collection of his category-defying songs performed in an acoustic setting.
