Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham. Heard Tuesdays at 9:00 PM, Homegrown Music (HGM), presents new performances many weeks. A special feature during October is a live radio concert on the 15th. Nov. 2 Don Shappelle. From the Wilkes-Barre area, folksinger and
songwriter Don Shappelle is a long-time guest on the Homegrown Music series,
first appearing on the series in the 1970s. Over the years, he has stayed true
to the music, and has appeared with Pete Seeger on several occasions. Last
year, he returned to HGM after a four-year absence, to perform a collection of

Nov. 9 Jason Vo. A fine young acoustic guitar instrumentalist,
Jason Vo performs original music incorporating distinctive two-handed tapping
technique. He makes his Homegrown Music debut.

Nov. 15 A Homegrown Music Concert with UNDERGROUND SAINTS and VAN WAGNER. WVIA's unique series of live monthly radio concerts continues with another two hour performance from the station's Sordoni Theater.
Underground Saints are an up-and-coming rock band from Northeastern Pennsylvania whose individual members are well-known on the regional scene, including former members of Mere Mortals, Bent Blue and the Five Percent. Earlier this year, the band released their debut CD, marked by their first-rate songwriting and classy musicianship. They make their Homegrown Music debut as a band.
From Danville, PA, singer-songwriter Van Wagner is also a long-time Homegrown Music veteran, known for his articulate and appealing songs, many of them centered in Northeastern PA and its history.
As usual, WVIA's listeners and members are invited to be part of the studio audience for this two-hour live concert broadcast. Free seating reservations may be made at http://wvia.org (click the link to the Sordoni Theater), or by calling 570-655-2808. Note: Start Time: 8:00 PM.

the Northern Tier PA/Southern Tier NY area are featured with their

breezy, jazzy style, Julia Joseph performs original music with an acoustic

Nov. 30 The Secret Admirers. From ten years ago, the Secret Admirers was an interesting and enjoyable side project featuring Andy Goessling of Railroad Earth and Blue Sparks. The acoustic group featured the vocals of Lisa Knause. (Encore from 2000).
