Aug. 9 Mac Jackson. Northeastern Pennsylvania singer-songwriter Mac Jackson makes his Homegrown Music debut with an appealing collection of original songs. He is joined a small acoustic group.

Aug. 16 Steve Brosky with Jim Meyer. Veteran Lehigh Valley singer-songwriter and rocker Steve Brosky collaborates with guitar virtuoso Jim Meyer for a great set of Steve's original, often witty songs. (Encore from 2008)

Aug. 23 Sarah Donner. New Jersey singer-songwriter Sarah Donner has been attracting attention nationally with her CD Typing Is Dangerous. She makes her Homegrown Music debut with a new set of original songs not yet released on CD, performed in a solo acoustic setting.

Aug. 30 The Strand. This fairly short-lived but well-remembered band from Northeastern PA released a much-praised CD Puppet Food in the mid 1990s, which highlighted their sophisticated rock sound. This Archive edition of Homegrown Music features their 1992 session that featured some of the songs that would end up in their CD.

Aug. 31 A Homegrown Jazz Special: THE BOG SWING BAND. A first-rate, thoroughly swinging jazz septet that draws on the influence of Django Reinhardt, but adds more eclectic touches like two horns, hand percussion and mandolin. The group includes members of several popular regional bands, including And the Moneynotes, Rogue Chimp, and Hickory Project. (Note: Start time: 7:00 PM during WVIA's All That Jazz.)
