Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. A special feature in December is the annual year-end sampler on the 27th. Dec. 6 Field House. From the Pottsville area, Field House is a three-piece bluesy rock and jam band comprising a pair of brothers. This encore from 2010 spotlights their original music.

Dec. 13 Abby Ahmad. Originally from the Wilkes-Barre area, Abby Ahmad is a New York-based singer-songwriter who tours widely. In 2009 she released her second CD Curriculum which was featured on WVIA' Mixed Bag. She makes her Homegrown Music debut with a rocking four piece band performing new material not yet released.

Dec. 20 Invert. A highly distinctive string quartet with two cellos, one violin and one viola, Invert was founded by a couple of jazz-rock fusion players. They perform fascinating original material, including some improvisation, that is definitely not traditional classical string quartet music. Recently, after ten years together, the quartet went their separate ways, but this Homegrown Music session from 2007 captured the group at their peak.

Dec. 27 The Annual Homegrown Music Year-End Sampler. This 90-minute special features a cross-section of the Homegrown Music performances from 2011 in the wide variety of styles for which the series is known. This segment will include music from both the studio recording sessions and the monthly live concerts. (Note: Start time: 8:30 PM)
