Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. A special feature of December is the annual year-end sampler of highlights from the series in 2015. Dec. 1 Paul J. Phillips. Veteran singer-songwriter Paul J. Phillips last year released his CD Every Time I Leave which was featured on Mixed Bag. This encore from 2014 features his original songs -- along with a couple of distinctive covers -- in a duo setting with drummer/percussionist Mark Popadic. |
Dec. 8 Jason Vo. Northeastern Pennsylvania acoustic guitarist Jason Vo returns to Homegrown Music with a new set of original instrumental pieces spotlighting his distinctive percussive playing style. |
Dec. 15 Jonah Whale. A long-running and versatile rock band from the Bloomsburg, PA area, Jonah Whale has released four albums and toured nationally. They make their Homegrown Music debut in a semi-acoustic configuration spotlighting their strong original material. |
Dec. 22 Lisa Moscatiello and Rosie Shipley. Lisa Moscatiello is known for her strikingly beautiful vocals on everything from folk to jazz ballads. She is joined by Celtic-influenced fiddler Rosie Shipley in a nice collection of material from traditional to contemporary folk, in this encore of a 2004 studio session. |
