Oct. 16 A Homegrown Music Live Concert with WADE PRESTON and DUSTIN DOUGLAS & THE ELECTRIC GENTLEMEN. After its summer hiatus, the Homegrown Music concert series resumes with a set by a multi-talented singer-songwriter and keyboard player, and an energetic blues-rock band.
Wade Preston established his reputation on the West Coast as a blues and boogie-woogie pianist, working with numerous groups. More recently, Preston played the Piano Man role in Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp’s Broadway hit “Movin’ Out” for its full three-and-a half year run. He was also a founder of the country-rock band Shotgun Wedding. He is now concentrating on his own music and will be doing a solo performance of his original compositions in his Homegrown Music concert debut.

He was a member of the band Lemongelli, and appeared as a member of the Badlees on their last Homegrown Music Concert. He has returned to his blues-rock roots with his power trio The Electric Gentlemen with drummer Tommy Smallcomb and drummer Matt Gabriel, and earlier this year released the group’s eponymous album. The band will be performing original music and some classic blues standards.
