June 4 Dan Masterson. Singer-songwriter-pianist Dan Masterson has released two EPs and last year issued his first-full length album, funded by fans, When Reality Calls, which has been attracting attention and airplay nationally. This is an encore of Masterson’s debut Homegrown Music session from 2014, spotlighting his appealing original songs performed on the WVIA Steinway piano. |
June 11 A Homegrown Music Concert Encore: BOB MALONE. While the Homegrown Music live concert series is on summer hiatus, series producer George Graham is presenting rebroadcasts of memorable past concerts. This one features singer-songwriter and pianist extraordinaire Bob Malone, who regularly plays as part of John Fogerty’s band, and has toured and appeared with many prominent artists including Ringo Starr. Bob has been a regular on Homegrown Music over the years, and this segment is an encore of a memorable concert with his band from 2008. |
June 18 Karolina Rose. A Philadelphia native, Karolina Rose last year released an album Invicta which has received airplay on public and college stations from coast to coast. Influenced by artists like Kate Bush, Ms. Rose creates intriguing original music, which she performs in a solo setting in her Homegrown Music debut. |
June 25 Potter’s Daughter. Classically-trained pianist-composer Dyanne Potter-Voegtlin is a Northeastern Pennsylvania native who last appeared on Homegrown Music in 1992. After leaving the region and raising a family, Ms. Potter-Voegtlin returned to the Homegrown Music series after 28 years, with new music and a band including her son Ian, and notable jazz bassist Lincoln Goines. Shortly after this 2018 session, the group recorded a new album The Blind Side. This encore presents the group’s distinctive, creative and wide-ranging original music, both instrumental and vocal. |
