Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 Homegrown Music is preempted on February 4 and 11 for special news coverage on WVIA-FM. Feb. 18 Lex Romane. One of the very first Northeast Pennsylvania musicians to appear on the predecessor to the Homegrown Music series on WVIA in the 1970s, Lex Romane remains active creating memorable original music with a classic folk and jazz sound. Now based in the Philadelphia area, he is joined on this new all-new session by Mike Galan on sax, clarinet and bass clarinet.

Feb. 25 A Homegrown Music Concert encore with ANN RABSON. Ann Rabson was a founder of the acclaimed trio Saffire, the Uppity Blueswomen, known for their great playing and sassy lyrics from a women’s point of view. Ms. Rabson had a lengthy career in the blues starting in the early 1960s. She passed away in 2013 after a long bout with cancer. This live concert from 15 years ago in 2005 features her in top form at the piano and guitar.
