Feb. 2 Ryan Harris Brown. A native of the Clarks Summit, PA area, Ryan Harris Brown is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, and has been based in Nashville for several years. In one of his visits home, he put in a session for Homegrown Music, coinciding with his album “Stranded in the Present Tense.” He has since released a recording called “I Go On.” His 2017 solo session is featured in this segment. |
Feb. 9 Gunnar Madsen. A co-founder of the distinctive and witty acappella group The Bobs, Gunnar Madsen has been creating a remarkable variety of interesting music over the years, including award-winning children’s albums, music featured in the TV series “Sex in the City,” and music and audio design used in Atari video games. From the Homegrown Music archive comes this 1999 session with Madsen accompanying himself at the piano and guitar. |
Feb. 16 A Homegrown Music Concert Encore with LIPBONE REDDING. A creative and appealing singer-songwriter, Lipbone got his nickname from his uncanny verbal imitation of a trombone. This 2008 live Homegrown Music concert features a band including bassist and notable producer Jeff Eyrich. |
Feb 23 Bindley Hardware Co. Jon Bindley’s family operated a prominent hardware business in the Pittsburgh since the early 20th century. Bindley and his band create classic American roots rock. Their debut album “Ever Satisfactory” got national attention, and airplay on WVIA’s Mixed Bag. This segment is an encore of the band’s 2018 session. |
