Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM and Saturdays at 6 PM on WVIA-HD2. Oct. 5 Mickey Spain. A veteran folksinger, Mickey Spain has been a member of the traditional Irish band Makem and Spain, and has recorded with such luminaries as Tom Paxton, Roger McGuinn, Noel Paul Stookey, and Jonathan Edwards. A Scranton resident in recent years Mickey Spain is heard in his 2018 Homegrown Music debut with a collection of original and traditional songs in a solo acoustic setting.

Oct 12 Cavage and Sudigala. The bluegrass duo of banjoist David Cavage and guitarist Josh Sudigala have been members of the acclaimed bluegrass group Hickory Project. They perform a collection of traditional and original music, showing their instrumental virtuosity in this segment recorded in 2016

Oct. 17 A Homegrown Music Concert Encore with MERRIE AMSTERBURG. We go deep into the archive for this memorable live 1997 concert with singer-songwriter Merrie Amsterburg, who was joined on Peter Linton on guitar. Ms. Amsterbug is featured on a number of distinctive instruments.

Oct. 24 Cruel Four Days Blues Band. Featuring guitarist Ed Trusky and pianist Greg Burgess, the group serves up original blues and some standards in this 1996 session from the archive, some of which appeared on their album Dear John.

Oct. 31 A Homegrown Music Halloween Anthology. Series producer and host George Graham goes into the Homegrown Music library for a collection of spooky songs about ghosts and other mysterious things.
